Let me start by saying their has been alotta hype on this blocks debut, and I hope this isnt a repost if it is oh well..haha:nice:
For one I heard 1200$...yeah right try more like 1732$
Lets Compare to say a R block that is 1699$

-Boss-
TWO PIECE rear main seal (why oh why?)
Cast Mains
Splayed 4-bolt main caps on 2, 3, and 4 caps

-R-
One piece rear main (normal)
Nodular Mains (stronger material than cast)
A true 4 bolt main

Now the Boss claims the higher max bore but I dont ever see anyone going out to .125 and I know of R's goin .100 w/o a prob
I myself will always be a .030 guy (331/347)

What a let down...and we thought we were finally getting a budget block with a bang:(

And ford does it again. They did the same thing with the sportsman block when it came out... they proclaimed it as the "in between" block for the budget racer and we all know what a dissapointment that was. I was going to hold off on buying my dart sportman block until I saw where this came in price and feature wise, I'm glad I stuck with my gut feeling and went with the Dart over the FRPP boss block. My dart wasn't much more than that and it accepts the stock hydro lifters without any modification which saves around $400 from having to buy retrofit lifters.

As for the 4.125 bore, I'd ABSOLUTELY go that route if I could have. If I ever change my combo it will most definitely be a big bore setup. At the time I was buying my rotating assembly off the shelf pistons in the 4.125 bore were pretty rare, but now most companies are making a shelf stock piston. My budget just didn't allow me to bore the block that much and pay for custom pistons, I kind of wish I would have now though. :(

I'm suprised with the price. that is a disappointment. I don't understand why they wouldn't have done true 4-bolt mains. That would have been a big selling point. There's gotta be a saving grace for it though, other than the bigger bore size. There has to be something that will sell it otherwise FRPP would have scrapped the project long ago, IMO
