The 85 5.0??

Hey i know this is a mustang thread.. but i cant find any answers. But i have a 1985 Thunderbird Elan with a 5.0 EFI with 40,000miles on it.. Me and my Dad are thinking about turning it into a drag car... Does anyone know anything about the tbird.. like how much it weighs, how good it the 5.0, etc... please someone help me... thanks

I dont think the T-bird motor would be HO like a stang but other than that I cant be much help. And if the EFI setup on that 85 bird is like the one on the 85 auto mustangs then its **** and I dont think there is too much performance potential there. If you building a drag only car, you might be money ahead to just carb it.

in 85 i dont think the efi's were all that good. it was 86 when the HO efi came out i think. before it had less power
