Im getting ready to do a serious build with my GT. Looking at making ATLEAST 950 horsepoewr to the wheels. . Well, I have to decide which power adder im gonna go with. If i go turbo, i will proboly go with a HP twin turbo kit. If i go supercharger, im either going with a kenne bell 2.6, Vortec YSI, or ProCharger F1. I will be using a 5.4 Aluminator short block with some pretty wickied heads and stage 3 blower cams. To reach my 950rwhp goals i will be pushing atleast 25psi to it. I dunno guys, which one do ya'll think i should go with?

see if you can work with hellion and create a hellraiser kit for the 5.4, pickup a used gt500 blower and the kit adds twins to that, Three Power Adders!!!!
got the low end from the blower and high side from the twins

2.6 KB wont even get close to 950RWHP...now the 2.8 mommoth MAY do it, but it will be tough.

Your really going to need to go turbo. Twin T61s will support 1200HP at the crank, and still spool half way decently.

Oh and be prepared to spend $30K+ to do this right....because thats atleast what its going to take. I just figured some of it up....you will have over $19000 JUST in the engine, turbo kit, Trans/clutch, carbon fiber drive shaft, and built rear axle.

Then you still need a whole fuel system....thats going to cost well over a grand. Roll cage (un known amount). Gauges ($500+). Then someone to tune it....$1000 ish.

And thats just the surface of it....there are always tons of little parts to buy, sales tax (if applicable), and shipping for everthing. Assuming YOU do all the work as well.

Then even still that aluminator engine WILL handle 950RWHP....but it wont be very reliable. One guy has already went through 3 stock 03 cobra engines @ a little over 1000HP. The forged cobra internals are safe until around the 700-750RWHP range. After that your pushing it.

So yea...30K atleast when its all said and done. I just want to make sure you realized that....thats why you dont see to many 1000HP cars running around

Using the 5.4 aluminator block was a little bit of a delima also, because i know i can buy a MMR short block for around the same price and the one i was going to use is good to around 1400hp. And i know it's going to be expensive, but im going for the EFI record where i live and it's going to take around this kind of HP to do it.

Have you ever driven something north of 500rwhp? Don't take all that time and effort to build an expensive couffin.

true that man

my car is pretty intense on just 11psi. im building for 14psi and that will be plenty on the street. 500rwhp is quick. thats why im going with 14psi and some nitrous for the track only for when i want to be faster.

and yea 900rwhp is a pretty expensive road if you want it to be safe. i mean you can probably hit your goal for cheap but parts wont last long on it.

He could always just turn down the boost for the street I'm not being rude, i do agree thats a lot of power but he COULD just have multiple tunes and tune it down for the skreet.

a 900rwhp car doesn't consist of just a really good drivetrain. These car's arn't built for 900rwhp - just saying for a street car it might not be worth the risk.

You need to get on youtube and type in Twin Turbo Saleen. That is a 900+rwhp street car. Ive driven plenty fast cars im not worried about wrecking one. I have every mod made to that car on my e-mail, so i can build that car and meet my expectation.

If you need to ask what its going to take, then you probably aren't prepared to take it in the fist place. No offence, but save your money and your sanity for something a little more realistic and leave the record breaking for someone with the bankroll and the know how to get it done.

Otherwise.....I can see yet another half finised, failed project being sold on EBay to some lucky Schmo for next to a song, 6-months from now.

yes you could turn the boost down on the street but then whats the point of building it for that kinda power if its never there. unless you track it a lot then yea. but i mean if that is what you truly have you eyes set on go for it man. I would love to see that thing on stangnet with some videos

but that will take tons of work and money to get it there and to be able to handle it not just for a few runs lol

hmmm, well first thing is first. I am not worried about money to get the project done by no means. Second, i know what it takes to go over my mark, i was just wanting other peoples opinions on the matter, that is what this forumn is for. Dont worry about me not having the know how to break that record or the driving skill because i promise you i have both!

Well I can tell you, I am building my car up to 800rwhp. I should be done in about a week. Everybody above is right. You have to build the entire car to handle 900hp. The engine in my car cost me about $7000 to throw together out of the total $20,000. I really hope you know what your getting yourself into.

Just a few pics so you know what your getting into.

Yeah i know what im getting myself in to. And i know i have to build the entire car to handle the power. 8 Point cage, full subframe connectors, Im buying the UPR front and rear tubular suspension kit, i am welding up all of the seems and little holes that are right by the upper control arms, torque box reinforce kit, I already have a 9" with 33 spline axles and a spool for the rear and the transmission with be either a powerglide, or a C4 from lentech with a 4000 stall.

So this isn't gonna be a street car? Sorry but i don't think a powerglide would be very practical for street use Just me though
