I'm sure california already has this system and probably worse... i need to just register it in idaho where my uncle lives, it would make life much easier, and cheaper

I also have a 94 V6, which is a OBDII car. If California has implemented an computer check, they didn't use it on me when I was smogged at the beginning of this year. Of course, I'm still running all the proper smog equiptment so I'd pass anyway.

Glad to hear you NY guys dodged the latest bullet.

We have had this for several years here in MO, and we have the dyno carp as well. Its quite nice for the obdII cars as if you run O/R h pipes and stuff if you buy a mil kit there is no code and you pass you just need to worry about the visual at the safty insp. and if you know someone then all is good.

I am looking into reg. my 94 as a limited use car/show car/whatever it takes, to get around smog as in the last 2yrs I have driven mine 4-6k miles. Its that or I reg. it out of town to an area that does not test for smog.

Up here in motorland-Michigan, we don't test for emissions. We love our cars so much we say piss-off to all forms of public transit!

I'm curious though, for you guys in emissions states. How does the testing work? Does evey car have to pass a test every year? Who pays for the testing? Who does the testing?

It all sounds like a classic big government make-work project.
