The new Delta-flow flowmasters are a lot quieter than the old style. I notice with my windows up and the radio at normal volume i can barely hear my exhaust. I found myself, during the winter, lowering the radio and cracking a window just to hear my car.

Meanwhile my friends in the car behind me are complaining about how loud my car is

yeah i am not a big fan of the delta flows. i liked the old 2 chambers a lot. i am going too put a set of 1 chamber flows on my car soon. right now i have the 3 chamber flows the original owner installed.

Flowmaster replacements

Hey there, did a bunch of research before I replaced the stock mufflers on my 02 GT. Wound up with Magnaflows and couldn't be happier. Got the stainless ones for about $200. Quiet at idle, loud when you get on it, and very little (if any) of the dreaded drone.

Another thumbs up for the Magnaflows. Borla's and Dynomax mufflers are also quiet in a pinch.

I have had MAC cat back and a Magnaflow catback. I had a bad rattle in the rear that was coming from the loud MAC, so I switched to Magnaflow and that fixed my problem.

I have a catted X pipe and Magnaflow cat back as of the moment. This afternoon I'm going to Flowmaster 40s in my Magnaflow piping. Should sound nice! Definitely will be more drone, but I got the rattle fixed in the back, so no worries now.

Crack your window open just a little bit. The passenger compartment will resonate less.

That remedy also fixes that little buzzing I get in the back on occasion. Actually it's not a little buzzing, it's a very loud buzzing. Makes me angry.

Now, I have a knocking sound coming from the back right of the car.

This is probably because Mac systems never fit right. Espessially on lowered cars. Why can magnaflow get it right but mac cant???

Magnaflows, welded in, 2.25, same size as stock. No drone, quiet on the highway, only loud when you accelerate.

And your mpg will actually increase slightly.

ever think of lining your floor boards with dynomat? ive been thinking about doing that...more so just so see if itd work or not lol...i love my SLP drone

I have welded in 40 series flows from the previous owner and I love the sound and the drone is the best part. Actually I wanna put something in to make it louder and sound better, maybe an X pipe. No idea how to reduce the drone. 1000W stereo maybe? I had killer drone in my civic but 4 infinity speakers and an 8" Kicker L7 sure took care of that.

Get a Bassani O/R X-Pipe, then itll be loud and sound damn good.
