Has anyone installed, or heard a set of flowmaster super 40's? Are they comparably better/same/worse than the original 40 series on our sixes? I think I'm set on getting either pair.

Chingonstang, how is your exhuast tubing setup, 2.5 or 2 1/4? I ask because on the flowmaster site, they only list the 40's and super 40's as 2.25" and I know that will sound raspy. Maybe I'll need some 2.5" mufflers custom fabbed for the 2.5" tubing I want? Seems to be the best sounds coming out of tubes that big.

The best sounding exhaust for the V6?
I got a 2002 v6 stang in a manual with all stock parts just a pony appearance package and I want a good dual exhaust that sounds good or just enough to tell the difference from a stock exhaust and an upgraded one...anyone have any ideas or suggestions ???

2.5 is what is on there. A shop should have no problem linking a 2.5 tube into a 2.25 hole. That's is what they did on my mufflers since the tubing itself was 2.5 and the mufflers were 2.25.
well i just installed the kit 17275 last week. summit was the cheapest i found. it sounds pretty good. its not as loud as the sound clips on the site are but it does have a deep tone to it. it is 2.5" all around and the y pipe to the mufflers is welded on. it was a pain to put in because the tail pipes were welded at a little bit different angle, but i got it to work. all in all they sound great

use 2.25" for a mid pipe and flow tubes, then 2.5" for tails. thats what i have, and it sounds great. if you are going to be putting more mods on like a supercharger, you can go with 2.5" but other than that 2.25" is all you need.
Awesome. I think this will be my setup: 2.25" Flowmaster Super 40's that exit into 2.5" pipes with 3" stainless steel slash cut tips. The y-pipe will be cut and have the muffler lead pipes welded directly behind the cats. The only fear I have is a loss of backpressure, but I guess there's only one way to find out? Now i just need to talk to a buddy of mine to get an estimate 
Appearantly they are meaner than their predecessors, and I trust flowmaster. There's only one way to find out and hopefully I'll know for sure within 2-3 months when i have it installed.
