The Official NCAA College Football Thread

In years past, I too would be laughing at Michigan's loss, but not right now. They are in for a long season and likely next year as well as Rodriguez get's his offense in place and the players needed to run it. The Big 10 has been a little weak the last couple years and it's not good for Michigan to struggle. Hopefully Penn State, Wisconsin, and Illinois can step it up.

As to my Buckeyes, I'm not sure what to think about Beanie's injury. It sux to lose your Heisman front runner, but other than the USC game and the bowl game, I think we have enough depth and experience to do just fine w/o him. I'm still not sold on Boeckman as our QB. We did get Pryor in early and often yesterday and I think we'll see him play a big role all season.

How bad is Wells injury? They made it out like it wasn't too serious.

alabama beat clemson woot woot!!
Bama looked good for the time I watched. Damn power went out here just before halftime so I went to bed. They worry me now that Saban has got them playing good football. Our only advantage is Bama plays here. We are throwing a party in Coach Saban's honor too. :rlaugh:

I don't know anything more than what is already out there on ESPN, etc... about the X-rays being negative. Hopefully it's something that a week of rest, a shot of cortisone, and some tape will fix. It's tough to play with a bum wheel, but if anyone can, it'll be Beanie. He did OK last year playing on a sprained ankle all season.

I hope he isn't too badly injured. He'll need to be healthy when we get a rematch in the Cap One Bowl. :D

Cap One Bowl? Yikes! If OSU isn't playing in the title game this year, then they better at least make the Rose Bowl. The one team in the Big Ten that worries me is Illinois. They'll be ready to repeat the upset from last year and it's at their place too. I'll be there for it, should be interesting since I'm going with a buddy who is an Illini alum and we're sitting in his alumni seats.

That sounds fun. I want to make an away game one day. Alabama or Auburn would be a decent one day drive. I'd also like to make a trip to Florida. Maybe Hobie can get me a ticket and we can hang out.

I went to the OSU-Illinois game in '02 that was a double OT thriller. Had a real good time. I was with the same guy and we were in the Illini alumni section for that game as well. The people there were friendly and I'm the type of fan who can sit in enemy territory w/o making people mad. I am not one of those A-hole fans that get obnoxious and ruin the game for everyone around them. I also went to the OSU-Purdue game back in '99 or '00, whenever Drew Brees was a senior and led the Boilermakers down the field ad the end of the 4th quarter to secure the win. Even though the Buckeyes lost, that was still a good time too. Take a road trip sometime, you won't regret it. I would go to Ole Miss if I were you. According to Kirk Herbstreit, that is a beautiful campus and probably his favorite place to go with Gameday.

How many people you think fly in for that game? Probably to Jacksonville. My passes are stand-by.

probably a ton fly in for the game.... especially to jville. but then, thing is, i wouldnt be going there, i'd be heading to gville, cause i'm going to crash at a buddy's place on thursday, then friday too, and then drive there on saturday morning... so i dunno, but if you can help, it'd be badass....

Did anyone else see UK crush Louisville for the Governor's Cup yesterday. Wow...I was expecting that game to be close. I never thought I'd see the day that I'd pay as much attention to UK football as I do to their basketball.
