The oil guage in a Mustang indicates...

Seems to me that the above information proves that the guage indicates whether you have a sufficient LEVEL of oil or not. So 3 of us who voted were correct

In that case the gauge reads that the oil is "half full" and we need to add another 6 quarts to fill it to MAX.

you could proably be 3 quarts low and still have 6psi of oil pressure at idle.


as crappy as this gauge is it is still a pressure driven gauge.
