I am going to put together a 418 like the one in the article in 5.0 mustang a few months ago Frankie's cheap 418...my question is do you guys think my 84 block i have is strong enough for this kind of abuse..?? I do have billet main caps and plan to get a main girdle...I am going to bracket race my car and drive it on the street too dont plan on taking it over 7000 and dont think i have to plan on using nitrous occasionally at the track max 175 shot.... any feedback is apprieciated...:hail2:

Due to the longer stroke a 'stroker' crank/pistons must accelerate harder in order to cover the longer distance.
These accel forces can be quite hard on the rot. assy.
There are recommendation formulas for the safe ranges that you can rev an engine to.
When I ran this formula for my 408w, I think my max rpm was about 6200rpm, and that is with a forged crank.
Point being that the bigger strokers have a hard time with higher rpm's.

Other than that, your plan is pretty sound.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
