Hi All,

Sorry I couldn't post these images yesterday, but the computer tech here at work had the network down for upgrading the server.

Anyway...

Yesterday, we mounted the car on the rotisserie and got our first real good look at the chassis. I have a bit of clean-up work on some of the upside down welds we laid, but all in all, everything looks pretty good. The painter’s staid late last night and "E" coated the entire chassis / body assembly. I will post photos later today showing the days progress.

Also, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF THE DESIGN CONTEST. I know I said that it was ending yesterday, but I forgot that March had 31 days. So, get your ideas in to me by midnight.

Catch you later.

Hi N,

I am so depressed. I viewed this thread, and all the related debates and conversations, as an integral part of the build. The only way I could feel any more "down" was if something had happened to the car itself.

Maybe someone had the thread downloaded to their computer for offline viewing??? Anybody???

Catch you later.

we need to get this thread "re-stickied".....truly unfortunate that so much info and progress was lost.

I've been working in the IT field(s) for 15 years, IT guys usually get fired over losing a small fraction of data much less three months worth, I'd fire any IT guys that worked for me over this that's for sure! We'd walk them out no pay, do not pass go, call security. If they didn't like it I'd tell them we were considering pressing charges for gross incompetance.

Completely and totally unforgiveable, there is simply no excuse.

I don't know if we can get this back up to 40,000 posts before the unveiling, so we should maybe just move on. We all know the state this project is currently at and we know the unimaginable hard work it took to get there. Maybe a new thread should be started with a quick overview from SN65 as to what it is we are actually looking at as the project sits now (for any newcomers to Stangnet) and we can continue from there.

EDIT: Sorry, that was 40,000 views, 650-700 posts. I'm still shocked that I dropped from over 330 posts.

Maybe some one has this thread cached in their temp files? I didn't get a chance to read the last 5 or so pages.

Looks like the pages in my cache just access Stangnet's database, the pages are pretty much useless.

Hi All,

I am currently reviewing all the entries in the design contest. I have to say that there are some really good ideas. I wish I could use them all. In fact, they are all so good that I am considering building a car for each of them.

I am working up a few sketches of some of the "verbal" entries. It will take me about a week to review all the entries and come to a decision.

Catch you all later.
