Yeah Bob (referencing an earlier post up on this page by Cougar 68) how did you guys get that line in above the windows? It looks like modern cars that don't have drip rails, so the water doesn't run down the side. Not having a fastback doesn't help me, but if you could take a pic of your stock fastback from a similar angle, we could reference.

Hi 1320,

That roof / drip rail body line is on all 65-66 fastbacks. Wayne just accentuated the line a bit. He made the edges a bit sharper, etc... On an original, the lines are a bit softer so the detail does not stand out that much. The next time you see a fastback in person, give it a close look.

With something as classic as the 65-66 fastback, subtle changes get the best results. If you get a chance to see the SN65 in person, look at all the body lines. Wayne spent countless hours sharpening the lines so that they would consistent throughout the entire car (they needed to match the fender flair lines). Tying all these details together is what makes the entire design work as a whole.

Now when you say "sharpen," what exactly do you mean? Did you redo the body work or add to it at all? I'm really curious.

Hi All,

AAAUUUUGGGHHH!!!!

Their coming tomorrow. Their Coming Tomorrow, THEIR COMING TOMORROW!!!!

The camera crew from V8TV is coming tomorrow to start shooting the car and WE ARE NOT READY. We have to clean up the shop, hang some banners, and a whole **&@$load of other things.

Can’t talk now. Gotta go. You will probably not hear from me until Monday. Have a nice weekend.

Oh BTW, we are currently looking for a body man. Go to the bottom of the websites home page for details.

What is V8TV?? It's sounds like something I need to see on tv, especially with Sn65 on it. I just hope they don't do something ridiculous and stick some hot chick next to the car so we can't the details of the car.

I have dish network and I do get the Mens channel. I think it is channel 218. They have a lot of hunting and fishing shows on there most of the time. I catch the V8 TV show from time to time. They aren't the type to put a chick in front of the car. They usually have a lot of how-to's on there. I remember watching one episode and it showed how to make sure your Holley carb was tuned properly.

Please post the date and time as soon as you know when the show will air. I don't have Dish but coworkers do.

Bob,

Saw the update on your site. Looks great. One area of concern I have though. On your lower door hinge, the plunger that alerts the door being open or not, when the hinge closes it will start to wear on the paint. Maybe you should put a small piece of circular rubber so it doesn't bring the paint down. Something minor but I hate to see the paint wear through.

Hi xj,

When Wayne blocked the car, he just sanded it in a fashon that maxde the inside and outside edges sharper (they come more to a sharp corner than a soft curve) just like he did on the fender flares.

Hi M,

Thanks for the heads up. I will talk to Wayne about it. Maybe a small SS or chrome button.

A quote from V8TV...

We shot the SN65 today... what a friggin' awesome car. To see this thing in person is just a mind blower. We were extremely honored to have the opportunity to point our camera at the car.

Personally, I think one of the best attributes of this car is that it looks like it was built new on a Ford production line. The quaility is 1st rate. There is no visible structural transition between the '65 and the Cobra. Bob and Wayne are really doing an incredible job. The Cobra dash looks like it was made for the '65 shell, and the use of all the Ford systems makes the car even more unique. I could go on for days.

I'll keep the board posted on when the V8TV episode with this car airs.
