I have a 94gt with the Mach 460. Ive had this problem that I cant seem to figure out. The radio stations like to fade in and out. Some stations that are 15 miles away barely come in. If the car is turned off I can get everything perfectly. If the car is running.. forget it. I have switched out the factory unit for a Sony and I still have the problems. I have even gone to add an antenna booster and noise filter. Nothing has helped. I dont know what else to change except the wire and actual antenna.

My wife once had a Prism that had poor reception. When she had a new stereo installed, the guy found the antenae wire wasn't even connected.

I suppose it could have come apart at the base of antenna. I know its good on the radio side. If the antenna was bad then why would it come in perfect when the car is off?

You could ground the center of the antannae plug and get reception. When i worked at ford, the 94 had major audio problems with the Mach's and there wasnt really any fixes,it was just trial and error.
