this is copied from the nissan forum im on.

----------------------------------------------

I travelled up to Charles' place this past weekend with his freshly built destroked QR. In 18 hours, from start to finish, we had the car up and running.. It would have been much faster, but, we had to take several breaks during the day to run out for misc. install parts. Keep in mind.. this car hasn't run in over a year!

8am Saturday morning..

I stared at this for about 20 minutes before diving in..

A few good shots of the drivetrain, ready to install..

Buttoning everything up..

With fresh fuel in the tank.. the engine fired right up, and settled in at a nice lopey idle..

http://www.fi-r.net/images2/QRbuild/CharlesSQR23DET/SuperspecLivesAgain.wmv

Nothing exciting.. just a fire up video..

After 500 miles of break-in, it will go back on the dyno for a retune, due to the bigger 67mm ball bearing turbo that we installed. We made 500whp @ 19psi and 8500rpm on a very conservative tune (http://www.fi-r.net/images2/500whpSQRDyno.wmv) last year. Now, we're going 9000rpm and we're turning the wick up with larger injectors and a much larger compressor wheel. 650-700whp @ 28-30psi?

luckily i got this car running again. i let my buddy take the fox to the grocery store and he ended up putting it in a ditch nose first. the damage isnt all that bad from what i can tell. the upper and lower rad. support is bent, pass. fender is creased and the bumper cover is trashed. it still runs and drives fine.

im not sure what happened, he grew up driving that car since it was brandnew. its not like he wasnt used to the "power" or how it handled

anyway, just wanted to share with my foxbody buds.

Nissan engines FTW.
I'd play off of the QR25DE's insane torque, though..
Edit: Insane for a 4 cylinder. Forgot where I was for a second.

id love to go crazy with the fox, but it has to stay my DD for a while. i cant just do something simple, i always have to go balls to the wall just like i did with the sentra.

Seems like a Sentra would be a better DD (not all modded of course) and hop up the Fox as its a sports car already

Still sitting in storage waiting for my beater Neon to blow up.
My non-beater Neon is doing great, however.

I do have respect for thoes Sentras though, and thats a good looking version you have. I used to not think much of them until my buddy took me for a ride-along at a SCCA event in Maui. He has a SE-R Spec V (not sure what year, 02-03 mabey) and that thing was un-f$%^ing-real on the track. The way that thing flew through the corners and the power it had to exit the corners was amazing. His lap time was 5 and a half seconds quicker than my 89 GT ran.

yes, they handled fairly well from the factory. with minor upgrades they are extremely competitive with more expensive cars.
