The Vette should be making 'whoosing ' sounds soon!

That will be fun...until you run into a Z06 with a tune. At that point, it will be a neck and neck race. If he has a few more little mods, you will be looking for more power (unless it is the Z06 that Cory raced:D ). I will be glad to see that vette run at the track! Congrats.

There is always room for a blower cam/heads to go with it! Im am going to need to find some wider and stickier tires for the car first. Anyone know who makes some good 19 inch tires?

There is a guy running the Procharger at 8-9 PSI with a cam, headers, and fast intake making 615rwhp!

Perfect for your setup once you get the supercharger installed and tuned properly. So who are you planning on doing the installation?

The ContiSportContact 2 Vmax is Continental's Max Performance Summer tire that was designed to be the fastest "off-the-shelf" tire in the world. Intended for ultra-fast, high-end customized sport cars and performance sedans, the ContiSportContact 2 Vmax is the first road tire certified by Continental for speeds of up to 225 mph.

Allen if you ever decide to get rid of your Cobra I am always in the markett. :D

Krazy Koncepts will be doing the install. Tuning is still up in the air- the car will get the canned procharger tune at first, but I will need to get dyno tuned. Hopefully KK can get some LS2 tuning software, if not there is a guy in Vancouver that is supposed to be pretty good.

Thanks for the tire info.

Take it to Tom Wong. He knows his stuff. His shop is near AFP and FAT Specialties. He has a mustang dyno and all the GM-oriented software and experience that a crazy middle-aged electrical engineer could possibly accumulate.:hail2:

So you're not going the heads/cam route? Though you were looking into the LG stuff.

The tune that comes with the Procharger kit is pretty lame, and its going to be hard to find someone with tunning software for the LS2/LS7 platform as they just recently release them in both EFILive and HPTuners. I have the EFILive currently that I'm playing with and a wideband. The good thing about it is that you can set it to autotune mode and get all you VE tables done just by driving around! Really easy to tune with it.
Go to LS1Tech.com for more info on the tune and stuff, the vetteforum is not the best for tech.

As for tires, your 295/19's wont do anything. Best bet is to go down to an 18 inch wheel and use DR's all the time, either way you need a different wheel because you cant go much weider on the stockers and even if you have a 345 tire the 19's wont stick and it will scare you over and over when you slam it at 60mph in 2nd gear.

Another thing is that your going to need to upgrade the clutch at those power levels. On/off clutch is not something your going to like! lol

Ya thats who I was referring to. Talked to him yesterday night, pretty cool guy. He told me he was going to order the HP Tuners LS2 tuning software and cables- hopefully have it by next month. That would work out pretty good if he follows through. I hoping some other guys with LS2's will show some interest to push him to get it. It is probably expensive.

Ya, it was a hard choice for me to decide what I wanted to do... I was leaning back and forth for seeral months now. In the end, I decided it would be a more drivable car with the boost, and easier to demod it is I had to. Kind of miss my old cobra so this should help a bit to, plus the procharger sounds cool, lol. (Not that a big cam and heads wouldn't either).

I hear you on the wheel/tire situation. Im think about picking up some 18 inch C6 painted wheels and getting them powder coated black and call it a day with some drag radials. If not i can go with the Z06 tires (supercar) for a while or some hoosier 19 inch drag radial type tires. Not sure on how scary it will be but we'll see. Ill run the clutch till it burns out.

I wouldnt be the 1st to get a tune from a guy who just got the software! Even though he might have tune tons of other cars, he still wont have a clue what tables he will need to tweak in HPTuners its all different. The software packages range from $499 for a simple personal verison that you can add licenses for other cars, a $649 Enhanced I/O version that you can connect a wideband to it and the tunershop is around 5 grand. His learning curve around the software is going to be fairly wide and I wouldnt risk it. Call Robert Judd (503)799-4271, he's got more experience in these motors anyhow.

Or you can buy your own tunning software and play around, EFILive is pretty easy to learn and you can go to their forums you'll learn pretty quick. And the best is you can just copy a tune from somebody else with a procharged LS2. :nice:

Tom has experience with similar EFIlive software, as well as countless other engine management systems. I have talked to him, as well as many customers who have taken their cars to him after other local tuners screw things up(namely FAST Specialties and Robert Judd). He doesn't really advertize well, so people pretty much only find this guy via word of mouth. He has a couple whipple-charged suburbans, as well as a blown C-4 vette. Ever wonder why nobody takes their vettes to FAST Specialties? It's because they all go to Tom. He has actually re-done tunes that Robert has not adequately completed. Personally, I would rather take my car to a guy who actually owns a shop and is a degreed electrical engineer who was working on cars before ASE standards were even in place. All the vipers that get modified by the dealer in Portland are taken to him for tuning. He said he is doing a custom stand-alone system on the Pantera that belongs to a guy in the Portland Viper Club (who owns the S-7 that was at PIR a few summers ago). He also seems to be the only one in the northwest that has experience with Mechanical Fuel Injection systems. This last fall, he tuned a hot-rod with a Dart Iron Eagle blocked 427 and Hillborn injection. If I owned a vette and needed work done, he would be the only one I would go to.:nice:

Ohh wow he sure sounds like he knows whats up. A degree in electrical eng sure helps understanding a lot of the systems and sensors voltages and whatnot. If you dont want to mess with the tune your self then I would go to him for sure.

I would have to agree with loud95, from what I have been hearing from several...several people, tom is a much better place to go than any other person mentioned for vette tuning.

yep. Tom was one of the first car guys i met when i moved up here. Good guy, nice shop.

he's been getting a ton of business lately of pretty high end "race" cars (427TT calloway vettes.. a few vipers..mmmmhmm)

i've been trying to setup some dyno time with him so i can retune my car
