Well after some harassing from Chad and a decision that being a snow plow wasn't the greatest job for a mustang I decided to buy a winter car.

This is what it looked like when I got it after about 4 hours of cleaning on the inside and outside

next Chad and I went to bucks and stipped off the whole front end as you can see from above it needed to be replaced. All I can say is I'm glad Chad's a strong boy because we went on an all you can carry day :D Here is a picture of the car all stripped down

Next came the paint and bodywork phase. here is my boy painting the car for me. This was a long night we took it to the paint booth at about 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and started sanding it and then had to mask it and then paint it. We figured it wouldn't take us that long. Wow were we mistaken it took us until 8:00 Sunday morning. 2 People just aren't enough to make things go fast! :)

And then lastly this is the finished product. I have just over 500 dollars into the car including the price of the car. It need a new carb and i put new plugs and wires and a tune up into it as well. I also picked up the set of cragars at the Majestics swap meet for 100 bucks.

The wagon is Chad's winter ride! The malibu is no mustang but it can drift fairly decent and goes pretty well! :D Should get me through the winter anyhow!

Thats a pretty sweet car now that it's all flat black and such Chad's caprice is looking pretty cool too but I expected nothing less.

That paint booth looks damn familiar, seems like just last week I was there scaling an excavator putting boom decals on it :D 350BL I think it was.

Ps for Chad Make them buy a better ladder that rickoty old 20' wooden ladder is DEATH.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Ya when i picked up the car i had major doubts about what it would look like. I'm happy with the way it turned out though and it will get me through the winter! I do however miss my baby but i keep thinking that its only 3.5 months until i get it back!! :D

Mines only been away about 3 weeks as well. I put it away on the 27th of November. Unlike most people i realize that if you let it warm up you can drive a mustang in the cold! :) I would have drove it all year round if Chad wouldn't of kept harping on me about getting a winter car :D

You 'can' drive a mustang in the cold, but you can't drive them in the salty roads unless you like Rustangs.

Actually i drove mine last year and have had no problems with more rust or anything. However i was washing it almost every other day and i guess i don't drive everyday as i ride the bus to work and back. :)

and actually i was meaning beginning of April. No matter what my car will be out of storage as of April 9, 2006!

Well not all of us! A certain Mr. Kevin with his 2000 GT "winter beater" gets to enjoy V8 awesomeness all winter! And Joe gets a turbo 4 banger! And Russ can have a Nitrous Bonneville with not to much work! And Ryan has the 5.0 in the Vic.
