Thermactor holes??

What do you use to plug the Air injector holes in 1970 FE cylinder heads? I tried a pipe plug but it was to big. It looks like a special thread. The thermactor system is missing. Any help would really be appreciated

They're a standard thread... I used 2" bolts and sealed them with high temp RTV. I don't remember the bolt size but I got them at Lowes. They stick out some, but are out of sight, and are handy when pulling the motor.

Somebody else told me they used old spark plugs... I wouldn't recommend that though.

??? I used brass 3/8" pipe plugs on the '68 T-bird heads on my old F100's 406. What size plugs did you try?

I beleive the Ford still sells the blockoff plug for the heads. I do not know the part number off hand. You see them on ebay often. Also the Mustang part suppliers usually list them.

The pipe plug I used was around .530" od. It appears to be a one half inch fine thread. Do anybody know the ford part number?

Part number for these plugs is C6AZ-6052-A. Your local Ford Dealer should be able to get them for you.

I called the local ford dealer, with that part number, and they ordered them. They come in packs of 6, so I ordered 2 packs. Should have them early next week.
