i was driving around and stopped at light smelled anti freeze so pulled over and looked under hood and saw some dripping from sway bar and the upper readiator hose felt like the thermostat hasent opened would a bad thermostat cause the water pump to leak a little cause of the pressure

That would be a seal. How many miles do you have on that seal?

Probably not as the rad cap will release pressure at 16 psi. If the T-stat was stuck closed you would see both high pressure and temperatures. As you make no mention of temperature I'm assuming it wasn't an issue. Most likely the WP seal has failed for whatever reason. Not sure what you are basing your statement on the upper hose felt like the T-stat hasn't opened. Was the hose cold, soft or hard?

both hoses were hot and hard cant really tell you about temp gauge cause does not work properly just seemed there were alot of pressure on hoses and maybe went to the seal for release of pressure
