are mac long tube headers any good??? I have a chance to pick a new set up for $75

MAC products have a pretty good rep with the five point oh crowd, but i didnt even know they made headers for early cars.

I have a set and I tried to install but had problems. I called MAC to get specifics information. They state you must install the passenger side first then the driver's side. They also necessitate jacking the engine one side at a time to allow it to tilt while installing. I tried lifting the entire engine upon installation - hence my problems.

I had already given up and decided to accelerate my engine build so my engine is torn apart awaiting removal. I'm hoping it will go more smoothly next time around.

Don't confuse the High Temp Coating with ceramic. It is just painted on. Also, the #8 exhaust tube is removable. I believe this allows it to fit around the steering components and provide additional ground clearance. This detail was not visible in any photos on the site.
