has anyone done this? I am considering either CCW Classics, or the SSR GT3 wheels.. I have always know I was going 18 x 9 fronts and 18 x 10.5 rear... However, with all of these Chip Foose design cars, the staggard diameter wheels might be the way to go.. Comments?

whats the point of getting bigger wheel on the rear? I mean some car(like NSX, MR2, Ferarri, Lamborghini) does have 2 different size, but i was told thats something to do with weight on rear bias

thanks for posting pics droptop... I would love to see if they would look good, but I don't think anyone has done this to my body type.

well i was just informed by a tech at Tire Rack that if I went with a 19" rear and 18" front, then my handling will be worse. I told him that a lot of the supercars have staggered diameter as well as a lot of Foose's custom cars. He said to just stick with the 18's all around and gave me a price of $3900 which includes 4 Michelin Pilot PS2's with a 265/35/18 front and 315/30/18 rear.

He said that all of these other "supercars" had staggered diameter and also different size front and rear wheel height. He said the Mustang was not designed for staggered wheel height. I am still not sold on what this guy is telling me.

You are the first person ever to say that it would not look good on a Mustang. The deep dish design is all muscle. I am very surprised that you don't like them.

wtf is he smoking? i don't think any car has design preferences for that. for every car it's test/trial for using staggered wheel height/widths.

See... that is exactly what I thought! He said the the total diameter of the Vette is one inch smaller exactly than the rear. This means they have the exact same sidewall height which keeps handling characteristics similar between front and rear. So, why couldn't I do that with a Mustang?

Here is my other option in 19"... I spoke to CCW and they said that Mustangs are just like any other car and if I want staggered diameter, then there would be no problem. Click here:

thats a good point. I am not "loving" them either... I think I like the SSR GT3's much better, but I am just weighing all my options before I commit, you know? Does anyone else have an option for me to look at that I may have missed?
