I am getting tired of the extreme loudness I have and am thinking about putting my stic H-pipe back on and hving Eletric Cut Out welded into them.

There are the ones I am looking at.

Just a little FYI for a PA brother: If your inspection station were to be picky, or an officer of the law were to be anal during a traffic stop (not that that's ever happened before), you should know that the state inspection code does not allow any device (i.e. cutouts) on the exhaust which would bypass the muffler(s). I was just reading that last week. The only reason I know this is because a buddy of mine got his inspection license recently and out of boredom & curiosity we were going through the book line-by-line one night. Just something you might want to look into before putting out the $$$.

Is that motor 345hp or 345ci???

WOW! That's 22% loss through a 5-spd. That seems a little steep

Did you get to run at Maple Grove last week?

BTW, Nice truck Powerstroke?

The ford crate motors HP are measured with carb, not EFI.

While I think electric cutouts are really cool. I don't think they are worth the $$ what so get normal cut outs and just get under the car and take them off when you go to the track.

ONLY other reasons I could justify them is if you have a trick turbo setup and you had the cutouts set to open up when you go into XX amount of boost. That would be cool. OR you are going for the sleeper aspect and want to hussle some people that could be another reason I would consider....other then that a bit pricey for something that will probably get hot and not work right. (I've heard they can get stuck open/closed. )

They open too slowly for that. They're operated by really slow servos.

That couldn't be validated. It's a really broad claim. I think people just think back to the days when musclecars were tested for theoretical output. They used to dyno up to 6000 or so then extend the torque curve on paper for max power claim. Maybe they still do that sometimes, who knows.

yeah just like slowgt said if they want to be dicks they can fail you for that. for that $$ you could change to a different setup thats quieter but still has perfomance qualities

I have the McCord Power Plates. $250.00 for the whole set up. I absolutely love them. I have a Jeckle and Hyde thing going on. Through the exhaust, I am running three chamber flowmasters. Very quiet. When I push the button, the 2.5" dumps open up just after the h-pipe. Talk about people taking notice, it sounds like a nascar. I have actually had people roll down there window's at lites and and ask me about the car. When running through the mufflers, no one tends to take notice. It you drive up to a car show with the dumps open, Everyone will stop what they are doing and watch you. It is a pretty boost to your ego.
