Just like the title says...I'm looking at what will be my second 'Stang but my first 4.6 (Mach 1 4V) what all should be on the lookout for? The car is currently wrecked so I'm not expecting it to be perfect, or even close. But engine wise and tranny wise what will I be in for?
If the engine and transmission are untouched, then not much really. You've got the well known head tick problem, and the sychros for the shifter. The head tick would be obvious to hear. It will sound louder than the injector tapping noise. The sychro's, you'll basically be locked out of either 2nd or 3rd gear shifts, especially on aggressive shifts. They have had IAC problems too, but some people sell a new plate that is suppose to be one cure. I've never had any of these problems yet.
