As everybody else said, plus he says it's a HiPo.... If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that. Even if it IS, the HiPo block is the same old block used for a 2V and the heads have screw-in studs and valve pockets but the same old valve sizes. Yeah, it has beefier main caps, a crank counterweight and a bigger balancer....

I'd be looking for a VIN stamped on the oil pan rail that has a "K" in the 5th position plus all the other visual cues. That said, a HiPo that is probably .030 over with rebuilder pistons that isn't original to the car is worth what?

deftsound,
$14K is pretty close to top dollar for a coupe that is DONE and ready to go and a nice paint job done. That quickie scrape and squirt with what appears to be (hopefully at least) epoxy primer doesn't qualify as a paint job. Notice how whoever did it avoided the engine compartment and apparently just squirted the floors and trunk! This car appears to have had little or no proper prep before the black was applied. A real body and paint job is 6K-8K for just OK. Also notice what little attention to detail was paid to and how sloppy the wiring and plug wires show. This may well be a nice driver quality car, but is truly valued at 6K-8K or maybe 9K if pristinely rust and collision free. It is in perfect condition to be puuled apart and done properly. Even though there are some nice features/parts/options, there are a bunch of little bits of half-assed-ness that would worry me.
Just My $.02,
Gene

So..... How much is Your car worth? Playing the Devil's advocate, The 67 is not worth his asking price to me, but that's just my opinion! I wouldn't offer more then 3500 for what I've seen, unless I knew much more about the structural condition of the car. The trunk has the appearance of previous corrosion? There's an awful lot of pitting on the inside of the rear quarter glass trim, so if these are originals, it would lead me to suspect the interior has been damp for some odd reason... (cowl?) I've only seen pictures that depict the outward personality of the car, and not the ones that Really Count. I'd take a pass, as he's asking prices that a fastback would command in similar condition.....

Just my .02 sense....
