Thinking of selling the stang...

And it has happened, after a long deliberation, I have decided to start thinking about getting rid of the mustang. I need you guys's help on this issue. If I sold it I would be getting a '92 GMC Typhoon, its a pretty rare SUV. The things I like about it over the stang are the room, the speed, and the automatic transmission, (I hate the crazy stop and go traffic here on all the hills) But the things I like the stang for are, convertable, nuff said; the styling of our cars, again nuff said; the roar and power of the good 'ol 5.0L V8; the fact that with the money I'd be spending out of pocket on the typhoon, over the course of some time, about 10k, would make the stang bad as hell. :nice: But this war also comes down to a war between mileage, the typhoon has 28k original miles and the stang has about 128k. I need some opinions!! Specs on typhoon: 4.3L V6 twin turbo, 280 hp 320 ft/pounds of tourque.

Also, what do yall think I could get for my stang? 95 GT deep forest green vert. Small scratches on the paint, body in nice condition, 3.73 gears, KB subframe connectors, FRPP aluminum driveshaft.

It really comes down to again which car you like better...I mean the speed as you were saying is not really a factor in this decision because with much less than $10k the stang will blow that big ole suv out of the water...really to me all that seems important is the room....I mean for ten gran you could put a new engine andmany other things into your stang and breathe new and more powerful life into the car so speed and mileage seem irrelevant to me....I say stick with the stang unless you really need the extra room or hauling capabilities..In my opinion the stang is by far a nicer vehicle....however the suv has more practical useful appilcations such as hauling stuff and a boat and whatnot..

How much more would you be paying for the typhoon if you got that instead of keeping your mustang? If its a lot why not drop a 331 or 347 into the mustang and have a completly new engine with 0 miles on it. I'm not a big fan of SUV's or trucks so I'd have to keep the stang :)

I really like the Syclone and Typhoon from the early 90's. But, your excuse of more room don't wash. The Typhoon is a mini SUV at best and a two door to boot. Now I know it has more cargo capacity than a Vert. So, go buy a used Ranger for $4K and use it to haul stuff around and keep your car. Also, why pay extra when even a small stroker with some good heads will get you to the same or better performance. The only reason I would get the Syclone or Typhoon with low mileage is for investment purposes. Buy it and store it for 20 years and then sell it on a Barrett-Jackson auction for $60K. LOL
