well the stock tune is pig rich most likely to allow you to run 87 octane so yes gas milage is worse then the previous model but with a tune and 91 octance you should see more power and better gas milage!

my 05 is right now doin around 18mpg
compared to my 02 that did around the same,BUT it was already broken in and had 28K miles on it,,,,
I think the 05 will get better gas milage after the first 10K miles on it ,,,plus a nice tune too of course

Yep, always got to have time to break an engine in before it becomes its most efficient.

What do you guys mean by tune? Do you mean tune up?

Also, I bought my GT on Sat, and by yesterday I was filling it.

Computer tune, so they don't run so rich.

How does one get a computer tune done?

Have to contact a Tuner..like SCT, or have a local dyno shop who does tuning do it for you.

But won't that void the warranty?

Lowest mine has ever got was 21 I think, even when pretty much brand new. I usually get 23 or so.

If the 2005 is using the EEC-V computer and it is similar to that of the 96-2004 Mustangs, then you could probably buy a TwEECer and do it yourself. Pretty costly if you just want to tune it to get better fuel mileage though.

I'll probably just wait for some of the more experienced folks here to tune theirs first before I do mine. I'm a bit hesistant to make a change like that.
