I find this to be funny as hell. This guy down the street from me has this stang. I stopped by one day to check it out. He tells me it's a saleen and how awesome it is blah blah blah. I tried telling him he's dumb and it's a gt with minor mods to it. he's like 18 so he was cocky. Anyway I am browsing craigslist and seen it.

96 Mustang Cobra SVT

Damn all of a sudden there's a ton of stangs in my area. Check it out from that listing.

You lost me dude, what was so funny about it? Looks like a decent ride to me. And not a GT either but a Cobra, but I couldn't tell from the photos if it is actually a Cobra or not. But not a Saleen, but it clearly states that in the ad. Otherwise looks legit to me.

looks pretty clean actually and a rather good start for a fast car assuming its a cobra. you say its a GT, so you did confirm that its a SOHC engine?

im confused. looks like a half decent car. A little to many strips and decals for me....but im not buying it either so.....

I think I get the joke. But I don't think it's on him. Let me see if I have this straight:

18 y/o kid has what appears to be a nicely done car (he says it's a Cobra, and you refute that it's a Cobra, although you don't give any evidence that it's not). You stop by to check out his car, he tells you how awesome it is, you tell him he's dumb (presumably for bragging about his car that YOU stopped to look at), and you think HE's cocky?

Then you post about how he's cocky to mock him?

Let's see, from looking at the pics of your car in your garage--what grille emblem are you running? Looks awful tall and skinny to be a running pony. Looks more like a snake to me...

I think he has a nice car.

One of my neighbors a few houses down has 03 Cobra. I should go laugh in his face and call him stupid because he has a blower and I don't and only girls run blowers!

Get over it, just as there is always someone with a faster car, there is always someone with a nicer car. No need to bash them for it.

Hmm, intake looks like a 96-98 Cobra to me, also has Cobra calipers, either its a very detailed clone or its real. Clean car 18 year old cocky kid.

i think i see 'cobra' on the steering wheel.....my eyesight is that of a old man.

course the certification papers are a plus too.

How the hell can you read the steering wheel? I must be getting old. I just thought it was funny cause the kid is a jackass. Whenever he pulls up next to me on the street he wants to race, silly boy street racing gets your car crushed here.

cant really read it. the font and length of the letters resemble that of 'cobra'

It makes no difference that the word isn't legible, you can see in the photo is clearly not a pony, the only air bag cover that came with a word was the Cobra. Also once again in the engine photo you can see a large chunk of aluminum on top of the engine, so it either has a roots or it the bulbous intake of a 96-98 cobra which won't fit a GT. . .
