my car has a vibration that feels like a tire with only 2 lugnuts on it(u know how it would vibrate like hell wobblin back and forth). thats the best way i can describe it, but i know its not my tires, it only does it when im accelerating, the more gas i give it, the harder it vibrates. i jus replaced the TPS, and i know it didnt do it bfor i changed that, but its set alright (at .968), so i dont know what the hell could be causing this!!! well i have a couple of ideas, but i want to know what u think it could be.

Could be the balancer. See if the rubber is comming out of it.
You can seriously mess some chit up if you drive with a bad balancer.

hey balancer, good idea, never crossed my mind, but if it was the balancer, wouldnt it have some kind of vibration even at idle?

Good question, and though I don't think it's your balancer, it's still a possibilty. If it is your balancer than the vibration would be RPM dependant and wouldn't just act up when on the accelerator. That said, think back to the vibration... does it only happen when you're putting power to the ground or does it vibrate when the RPMs are up as well?

Check driveshaft bolts and make sure they are tight. Had a buddy with a Capri that this happened to.

Also check to make sure bell housing to block bolts are tight, and trany to bellhousing bolts are tight.

Crossmember bushings are in good shape? How about the tranny mount?

Check your engine and tranny mounts too, just another idea.

I had a vibration that I was almost sure was drivetrain related. Did a tune-up and it went away. Vibrations can be tricky.
