An insurance company can't actually total your car without your consent, but you may have to bite the bullet and get much less money than what the damage is worth. Like said above, pitch a fit if they try to total it, man. Isn't her insurance going to pay for it anyway?

My crown vic recently got hit by a lady who fell asleep at the wheel and I told the insurance guy I couldn't afford to total it because I'm in college. He just smiled, nodded his head and cut me a fat check for 1300 bucks. Geico rocks, man.

The radiator is punctured I think couldn't see 2 good otherwis its mostly body damage. And if it didn't have an airbag my head would've hit the steering wheel.

I've been thinkin since this happened today. I've been wanting a hatch or notch for awhile now. Might just take the insurance moeny and buy me a 4cylinder notch or hatch and swap everything out and fix the vert later.

That looks like an easy pull on a frame rack. That plus new panels and paint then you will be all set.

ramon, if an insurance company totals the car and gives you money you aint gonna get to keep it. they are gonna cut you a check and some junkyard is going to come pick it up.

There are Usually 2 ways to do it.

You can take the big check and they take the car.

Or Usually you can take 500 or so less on the check and keep the car too. Im sure its worth it to keep the car and a lesser amount on the check. You can part out the car and make up the difference.
