well, my car was just hit about a month ago in a parkinglot, while my car was parked. front fender, front bumper. took a while to get it in the shop because the lady was screwing around with insurance telling me she was going to pay cash. got to the point that i was tired of driving my car around wrecked, and i told her i'm not waiting anymore, going thru insurance.

just got the car back this past friday .looks great. until today. when it got hit, again. in a parking lot, again. while my car was parked..... again.

the damage isn't horrible, but i'm 19 years old, paying for every single dime on this car insurance and everything, it was perfect when i bought it, i've kept it perfect, up until recently when it keeps getting hit.

i don't understand how i keep getting hit in parking lots, when i'm no where near my car. are people that bad at driving?

Some people have no concept of how big or small their car actually is. I am amazed watching people try to maneuver their car in a parking lot or driveway, especially while backing. Cell phones just make things worse for some of those people.

Some people just scare me.

yep. too many drivers on the road with other things on their mind besides the road.

i dont know about what happened today, what distracted the guy, but the girl pulling into the parking spot drove into my spot basically. blaring her music so i bet she didn't even know she hit my car until she heard me screaming at her over her music.

Mustangs are magnets for idiots in a parking lot. I park way out and walk to the store. The further you park in the parking lot the less chance you have of being hit, People are just to lazy to park to far from the entrance. So you will have the area to yourself.

Ive always told people it is impossible to have anything nice around here because some one else will end up ruining the **** for you. The people who care about their cars and things usually dont have this problem. Also people who dont give a **** about their cars really dont give 2 craps about the economy either which is why most drive some crap like honda's . But i will say accidents DO happen. My grandfather accidently backed his boat into my first car which was v6 camaro. 98 nothing special but ive had my bad luck as well.

Wish the best for your situation make sure the repair is flawless. Its just too bad that your insurance will go up for this as well for someone elses stupidity.

I usually take up two spots if im at a smaller parking lot ( i know prolly piss off some people but i really dont care. Stay away from my car.)

Yuppies will be Yuppies.

Don't take up 2 parking spots unless it is way out. People get upset at that when it's close or semi close to the door. I knew a girl that told me she would key a car that was taking up to spots, Just for the heck of it. People are jealous, basically, If they don't have a real nice ride then you shouldn't have a nice ride. and then there are those that a car is just a piece of metal that gets them from here to there and back and don't really understand that a car is more than that, especially a Mustang. Most likely they drive a 4 door POS Toyota.

i am thankful that i work at a body shop. and the guys that i work with will not send something out unless it is up to our standards. there are quite a few hack shops in the area and they have no work right now. our shop has several insurance companys bringing stuff to us, because they know there will be no disappointments.

and my insurance wont go up. with the first time my car got hit this month it went through her insurance, her insurance claimed full liability for the accident.

and now this one is going to be cash. so i wont have to suffer with high insurance rates hah

i love my car, and if i didn't so much, i would consider getting rid of it just because its still brand new to me, and it sucks to have things like this happen. if i bought something older, i wouldn't take it so bad.

Taking up two spots is what ticks off a lot of people and makes vehicles easy targets.
People who don't care about others is the main problem. Cell phones also is a big factor. People just don't care. They really don't.
Off the subject, but went to the movies today. Before the movie, mixed in with the previews are notes to turn off cell phones, feet off seats, etc.
During the movie I saw at least seven people constantly texting on their phones. They weren't talking but the lights from the phones are very distracting. I paid good money to watch other people text.
How is that related to the subject?
People don't care. They do what they want to, when they want to and to hell with the rest of us.
We need some common sense and courtesy in this world.

That sucks! I also agree that there are way too many people who just don't care I try my best to park away from "danger". If I park close, I look for the end spot that is usually a bit wider and park as close as I can to the side curb. I don't mind parking farther out and walking unless it's some downpour! I also try and park near higher $$$ rides, but even careless people drive them...

Back 40 Parking Only

If I am driving my mustang, I always park in the back 40. If it is a small parking lot or crowded lot and there is no back 40 parking, I will not park there and will go somewhere else (to only exception is if there is a nice corner spot that gives you a mile on one side and no parking on the other). The hassle of dealing with a-holes in parking lots is not worth going where there is no good parking.

I have always said Walmart could make a ton of money if the made about
5-10 parking spots that were close to the front door a little wider that a regular spot and had a steel bar ( like a fence rail) on both sides and the front with a meter that cost a Buck to part there. It wouldn't be the buck that was charged to park there that made them money it would be all the free advertising the media would give. Then I wouldn't have to walk all that way to shop at walmart. The end spots of the 10 would have a car width of those yellow strips for no parking and a double rail so people could walk to close. Maybe electrically charged with a trigger that shoots out skunk pee. This may be going to far, I'll take out the pee.

I bought my first mustang brand new for my first car. It was keyed two seperate times in the high school parking lot, then like you, was hit while parked and I needed a new bumper and fender. The lack of respect people have for others' property is amazing. At least I had got a free cobra bumper out of the deal when my car got hit...

Once I got my new (current) mustang, I had it for less than two months. I washed it and it was parked in the driveway. Two days later, I got out to it, not having driven it since it was washed, and noticed a 3 inch scratch on the rear bumper. The scratch had dirt on it. It just so happened that the day before, my neighbor had replanted some tree/bush things on the border of our properties right next to my driveway. Coincidentally, the dirt where he was working matched the dirt on the scratch perfectly. I confronted him, and he denied that he had anything to do with it.

That's why I always park in far end of parking lots nowhere near other cars. New York City has some of the most God awful drivers on the planet that I do my best to park as far as possible from these morons..
