I need to know how the "Flow Tube-to-Muffler" joint is setup. Does your Flow Tube fit OVER the Inlet of the Muffler or does it slip INTO the Inlet of the Muffler?

I'm trying to determine if my Flowmasters are 2-1/2" or 2-1/4". I currently have 2-1/4" stock flow tubes that fit INTO the muffler inlet. I also measured the O.D of the Muffler inlet which came out to be around 2-1/2". Does this mean I have 2-1/2" Mufflers on my car??

Sorry for the Newb question. I want to get my entire system to 2-1/2" before the new motor goes in.

My 2 1/2 tail pipes fit into the muffler. Same as the piece between the h-pipe and the muffler.

sounds like you have 2 1/4". And they do fit inside the mufflers.

I couldnt imagine bigger flowtubes still being able to fit inside of my mufflers.

Looks like I'm gonna end up getting a set of Mac Pro-Dumps which comes with flowtubes and a turn down already welded up.

Thanks for the help!!!

Well no, bigger tubes wont fit if the mufflers arent made for them obviously. You might be able to have a muffler shop stretch the inlet/outlet of your mufflers to accomodate the bigger pipe since the inside of the muffler is the same either way. But the MAC's are a good choice. Thats all I run anymore.
