What should the spark plugs be torqued too? I seem to remember 7ft.lbs. but that seems to be very little torque... I also remember someone on here saying that there are some spark plugs with longer threads that help to alleviate this problem? Last, my warranty is long gone, if I take the car to Ford and have them replace the plugs and then one blows out later would they be responsible and make any repairs that may be necessary free of charge? If that is the case I think I may just pay them to replace them instead of doing it myself...

is it easy to tell when they are loose? I beat on my car occasionally so they very easily could be loose. I would like to resolve this situation bfore i have to start a similatr thread. (knock on wood)
Talk about knock on wood, my buddy at work yesterday morning was telling me this happened to his girlfriends stang, and mine blew one out on the way home that afternoon. She didn't have an extended warranty though, big $$$$$$$$$, the dealer said it would have cost me about 4 G's if didn't have the warranty, it would have been cheaper for a new(used) motor.

If you guys/girls are worried about the plug/head issue on recent cars why dont you just buy the extended warranty? As long as your mileage isnt high they will still sell it to you. Just hit Google with Ford + ESP and you'll be able to get details pretty easy. That's the route I will go before hitting 3/yrs or 36k on mine...

I bought the extended warranty right after I bought my car. After I flipped 36k, I haven't had any problems that have been covered by the extended warranty. Most of the problems I've had since 36k have been classified as 'normal wear & tear.' All I can say is read the fine print. It seems that anything short of your AC failing or your engine blowing up isn't covered.

As for cylinder head swap/tsb/warranty.
I had both my heads replaced last summer ('05) for the tic issue with the new updated/improved head,and had the VT cams,and Comp's valve springs put in at the same time.They said no problem.It depends on the dealer.If they are good with you,they might put the headers in for you do to the fact the head(s) will be off,and give easy access.You never know,just ask.Even if you have to slide a few bucks for them to do it.

I'm going to ask, from everything I've read it isn't worth it because they are such a pain to put in, however if I can get it done free or cheap thats a different story. If the FRPP's are so called crap, what do you guys reccomend?? Bassani??

Damn, this kind of scares me. I'm having my PI swap done soon and my PI heads are from an '03. Am I going to have this problem too?
