TB might be worth 2-3 hp, and is not really a restriction in the stock intake stream. Gears, on the other hand, will yield great improvements in acceleration - especially 4.10's or steeper.
Definitely do the gears first. I wouldn't even mess with the TB unless you add a supercharger too. And then, I would only go with the GT500 TB, as the rest have a lot of problem reports. Nearly all NA people see no gain with a different TB, and usually have problems.

A friend of mine has a 5.0 just like mine, only with 4.10's instead of my stock 2.73's. We have the same exact mods other than that, and let me tell you, the difference between our cars is crazy. The seat of the pants feeling in my car is good, but in his car, it's insane. In third gear going 40, if he lays the pedal down, I'm put into the seat no problem.
Gears gears gears! Get some better tires and maybe beef up the suspension, too, so you won't just sit there and spin all day.
How much does it usually cost to have a good set of gears installed? And alos, one thing ive wondered is how control arms affect the quartermile time and take off?
I live in San Diego, any good shops for gears that you guys could recomend? How much should a good install cost? I don't want the install to be half assed and be stuck with loud gear noises!
