throttle body/plenum questions

I wanted to get a throttle body/plenum combo for my car but i am having mixed feelings about it....on some threads people are saying it makes a big difference and other threads people are saying it doesnt do anything at all.... i wanted to get the accufab combo from american muscle.... any opinions? is it worth it or a waste of money?.... my car has a jlt ram air intake, slp catted x and mac catback..

i bolted on a bbk 75mm tb and ported stock plenum and feelt a slight difference. had i bought the parts new, i would say it wasnt worth it. i got a good deal on the combo used and felt i got my money's worth though.

I got a mac 70mm tb and my car at the time had only an intake and weld in flows and i still noticed a bit of a diff. Throttle responce was better, mpg's were a little better and it pulled harder to redline. I recently got a plenum and with the mods in my sig i still noticed a diff. I'd get it if i were you. If you plan on doing more to your car your gonna end up needing to open the intake up a little more anyways.

I bought the Accufab combo(70mm) and i have mixed feelings about it. The gains are minimal at best, but yes, you do feel WAY better throttle response. My advice to you is: Buy used, or get the Professional Products setup. I bought the Accufab because it looks the best IMO, and has the best DYNO PROVEN gains. Because i have spent the money to buy new, i can now say this: the gains where not worth the money i spent, on THIS setup.

I will however add; bolt-ons for a 2v 4.6L motor are never worth their weight in gold. Each bolt-on is good for at best 2-10RWHP, BUT these are all building blocks.

power gains are minamal but it is still not a bad upgrade... but it doesnt make a big enough gain to spend 400-450$ on the accufab unless you are for all looks.... i have the profesional products polished set-up and it looks pretty good i have been running it for about 2yrs now was only like 200$ then.. throttle response was better
if you dont have gears i would do gears before i paid 450 for the accufab

Unless your gonna put a S/C on it or do headwork, the stock 65mm TB flows enough air. I changed just the upper plenum(I got the C&L cheap). Did pick up a few hp but it leaned it out enough to need a retune.

i also went accufab new. alot of cash. however, throttle responce was much better and i did feel like i picked up a couple of ponies.

Dude I bought the C&L plenum and mac 70 mm TB. Its worth the money and its cheaper than Accufab. You can feel the gains alittle bit but are much more noticable on the dyno. Id get those and get your car tuned with an Xcal tuner. You'll be very happy.

If you have the C&L plenum you NEED to be running the 75mm throttle body. If your actually happy with the gains your feeling on the 70mm TB, you should switch to the 75.

Personally, i'm surprised you even noticed anything with the 70 on the C&L.
