Throttle Body

It comes in a kit with an spacer plate from Metco and now even FRPP has a kit. I'm not too familiar with the FRPP kit as yet it's brand new but the Metco kit is great and it does fit most cold air kits. The GT500 TB is physically larger so CAI's with a rubber snout can be stretched over it (a bit of a pain) but hard rubber or metal tube kits may require the purchase of rubber flange and larger clamps. I personally have the Moto blue kit that I purchased from a website that has really horrible service but at the time none of my wholesalers had kits available.

Each bore is 55mm, I put on one from a gt-500 they are 62mm each. Thats was a nice mod.:D

GT Tb's have 55MM Bores like you said. GT500 TB's have 60MM bores. BBK upgrade for the GT has 62MM bores. BBK upgrade for the GT500 has 65MM bores.

FRPP does not make an adapter kit. They will sell you the GT500 TB and you can buy an adapter from somewhere else.

The man is correct. Also Techco ports the stock TB to 62mm, linky. I'll probably go that route, as it's the cheapest.

Not really sure Klaw, other than to say the monoblades should outperform the twin bores by a wide margin (I'd guess ~30-50%). Though a 62mm twin bore should be fairly close, the monoblade should still be better (has 15% more surface area).

That was my thinking too. Can't say I'm really happy with Whipple though. They don't have any monoblades in polished and apparently aren't ordering more (nice that I paid extra for a polished blower). I ordered/paid for a black monoblade a couple weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped - they're waiting for their order which was supposed to be there two days after my order. Now my build is probably going to stall and I have dyno time booked etc.

The Ford Racing twin 62mm in polished looks like a very nice piece. I probably should have just ordered that.

I didn't realize that upgrading the throttle bodies on these cars was actually a performance gain. I thought that I read early on that there wasn't much to be had there. How much difference does it make?

Probably not worth it for a stock setup but I'm upgrading everything - forged stroker shortblock, cnc heads, oversized valves, blower grind cams, lt headers, 10-rib blower drive, 16psi boost. I installed the Whipple HO last year.

Not trying to hijack your thread but has anyone ordered this Techco TB yet? I want to know if it ships with the TB sensor and butterfly motor already on it or if it comes bear like the BBK TB. Also would I need a tune to run it on my F/I engine or will the computer adjust through the MAF?? Any help would be great and thanks in advance guys.
