i put a new carb and intake on my car today and i had to rig up a throttle cable because the previous one wouldnt work at all. i had a holley on before and the linkage wasnt perfect..now i have a edelbrock and the linkage is really bad and ill like to fix it, considering my tranny kick down doesnt work the way i have it set up... sombody had told me theres a company that makes the linkages kits or something but he wasnt possitive...any suggestions?

i just went from a holley to a carter last night and i didnt have all that much of a problem getting it to work i just bent the kickdown lever so it would work now i am all set

are most of these universal then i need to bent it or whatever to get it to the right position? by seeing the differences between the stock carb, holley then the edelbrock there is a big difference.

Insert the rod end connectors in the holes from opposite sides. Clear as mud right? I used this kit on my 66 which has a Demon carb. I installed the ends as I explained above and the rod has very little offset left to right when assembled.

Most retail type parts stores have universal throttle cables. I use one on my 70 and it works out just fine. It said fits most GM applications, but believe me it's right at home in my Stang. Cut the cable to fit and it's got the proper fittings to keep it nice and tight. I had the same problem when I went to my Edelbrock from my Holley. Now that I'm going to a Demon, I decided a new cable was in order.

Kickdown....who uses that? That's what a shift kit and a floor T-handle was made for.
