Throttle Sticking-Smog tech cant compensate

my throttle is really tight and the slightest movement of the gas pedal sends the rpms flying, its not to bad driving, but when trying to take off, or get the rpms to a steady point its a pain.

any ideas on how to remedy thios problem?

ive got a bbk 65mm throttle body fyi

those machines have to have the car held at a steady rpm for a while................had the same problem with a escape i have...............foot is to inacurate................so we used a screw driver to hold the throttle spring open on the throttle body................worked like a charm more accurate than a foot x's 10........................give it a try you will see.................

yeah good idea except its a test only center in california on the dyno 25mph test

anyone got any ideas on why throttle may be so touchy and sticking

Take it apart & clean it with Throttle Body Cleaner. Scrape the gasket surfaces extra clean and replace all the gaskets when you put it back together.

Move out of California. That's what I did. Not a single smog problem since!
