You have to remove the trans to do it. If the clutch assembly hasn't been done this would be a good time to do that as well.

You should also invest in a new throwout bearing retainer, as well as a shim kit. Do a search as this just came up a few weeks ago I think.

I dont think that there is an easyway,LOL. Ummm, You are going to have to pull the trans. If you have acces to a lift that would b a lot easier than on your back. Depending on your exhoust set up you may be able to drop the trans without droping any of it. I can drop mine this way, I just have to remove the ****er and the crossmember will somtimes give you some **** but THE HAMMER WILL MAKE IT SUBMIT.

consider upgrading to a new STEEL front bearing retainer. approx $40... and remember to LUBE the bearing retanier... or the throwout bearing will chatter againt the bearing retainer surface and drive you nuts...
