So does anybody know what a bad throw out bearing sounds like? I've got an annoying sound coming from up front while driving and it goes away when the clutch is in.
Thanks for the help

Thats my life.... I think i am gonna go get a ford one . i just put a new one it it already has that fain squeak after 4o miI've had a NUMBER of TOBs that only made noise until pressure was applied to the pedal. Nearly all of them were aftermarket TOBs.
I'm a firm believer in FORD FACTORY TOBs and steel retainers.
*Skreet-skreet-skreet-skreet*
Me: Damn*adds a little more tension to the clutch cable to get rid of the noise until I have a chance to drop the tranny and swap out the TOB*

The pilot bearing is always 'engaged'.I've been told a pilot bearing will only make noise with the clutch in, because that is the only time it is engaged.
