*Thump* under hood after removal of front swaybar...

This is the second time I have removed a front swaybar. The first time I removed it on my 98' Firebird and it caused a not extremely loud, but noticeable *thump* or *clunk* under the hood...and it was immediate so I knew it was coming from where the swaybar was intact.

I removed my swaybar last night on the GT and today it started. Identical *clunk*. It seems to happen when I'm rolling and when I make a sharp turn of the wheel. At least this is when I notice it the most.

The car drives absolutely fine for not having a swaybar. Matter of fact, it drives better now with a softer feel up front. I DID NOT notice any nose dive or leaning/yaw while cornering. The only thing noticed is while parked, when I turn the wheel and take off it leans but that's no biggie. If I can only figure out how to rid of this *thump* I'll be alright.

Any suggestions?

I just noticed that all the bolts are off but I only have 3 of them blue plastic bolt holders (or whatever there called) taken out. Seems there should be 4. 1 on top and bottom of both sides to hold it in place. Could that last blue plastic thingie be the problem?

I didn't figure it would be and since it was on the top, on the driver's side it was the biggest pain to get to when I was finishing up so I left it. But, if this is the problem I can get under there again and wiggle it out. I dunno...

I fixed it.

It was indeed what I thought was wrong. It seems that I didn't take out the BIG SCREW from the passenger side that holds the swaybar intact. The drivers side came out automatically with the bar but the passenger side seemed to have fell inside my shock. :( No more *thump*. So, if your planning on doing this just make sure to check for loose bolts, studs, or any other misc that could have fallen off into your suspension.

Also, for anyone wondering about the weight of this thing...not too sure about older stangs but this darn thing is HEAVY son! It scaled at exactly 19.5lb but it feels heavier. Again, no compromise here...this is strictly a FREE performance mod (unless you plan to autocross).
