P.S. As for the whole Z vs stang thing. The main reason stangs are so popular is that they are 1 of the best bang for the buck. Im sure plenty of people would have chose something else if they had a little more $ to throw around. Just my opinion though.

Very true what you said about the Mustang being 1 of the best cars for the $. 1 reason why GM quit building the F bodies is because they didn't sell like the Mustang. Funny thing is, Ford sells more V6 'Stangs than GT's,MACH's and Cobra's combined.

If I had more money than I knew what to do with, I would have bought a Roush or Cobra, or even a Viper!

:notnice: This is why more and more people are leaving stangnet for Modular Depot (i'm spending more time over there myself). People need to think before they speak. Guess what pal, the GT is mod friendly fun car with great looks and performance for the money, but its build quality is no gift from god. Hate to burst your bubble but the Z is a great car, i've driven one. I'd rather have my GT because of the available aftermarket, but I wouldn't question anyone who would choose a Z over our cars.
and your last statement ripping on all foreign cars... Drive an audi around and tell me you don't like foreign cars.
Lets try to get stangnet back on track (afterall this is the tech forum, lets leave these opinions about foreign cars in the talk section where hopefully no one will read it since they aren't even logical)

I understand what you are saying but you are comparing a car that can be had for under $20,000 to cars over $30,000 so they are bound to be a bit more refined....

wow i appreciate all the input. i'll adress a few things real quick.

my car-- the cougar is great. smooth ride and fun, but i have always wanted a hot rod. it has the 4.6 so i can build it up. but the trans will need upgrading, the rear end, internals, power adder, etc to make the power i want. dont know if i want to spend 8K to build up a cougar.

GT-- love em, always have. great car. i can easily get one of these but if i did i would get a 99-00 at auction and build it up. short block, steeda suspension, wheels/tires so it is a viable option.

Mach 1-- I love the styling in and out. nice touches. and the 4V motor needs no comment. enough performance i wouldnt spend too much right away as it will be more power than anything i have ever had. the impressions i get is it is a great compromise between the Gt and Cobra.

I am just trying to make an educated decision. thnaks for all the input so far guys.

Those are BIG words coming from someone who's only been driving for 4 years, and a College student who is still wet behind the ears! I've been driving almost as long as you've been alive. I've driven more cars than you ever will.

I see very little wrong with the build quality of the Mustangs. Why shouldn't I question someone who chooses a Foreign P.O.S. over any American made car? GEE, I hope when you get out of school you'll be able to find a job. People with attitudes like yours are part of the reason why we are losing more jobs over seas. Drive an Audi? Drive a Viper!

You do know that foreign car manufacturers put more money into our economy than their own don't you? They build factories over here, pay American wages, spend money with American contractors to actually build the buildings. If he's the reason we're losing more jobs overseas, you're the reason everyone overseas hates America.

If everyone overseas hates America, How come ther are so many Foreigners trying to come to the us to live? Trust me I live in SE Lower Michigan, where you practically need a translator when you go to a Gas station, 7-11 or liquor store!

Foreign companys may put money into our economy, but how much of the profit goes back over seas? Ask someone who works for a Foreign automaker if the ever got a profit sharing check for over $9,000, or for any amount for that matter. I've got a few checks like that from Ford.

This is pointless. Trying to talk about something and getting a bunch of B.S. replys from YOUNG KIDS!

You've got a whole 45 posts and you are here telling me I shouldn't come here anymore? And i'm "wet behind the ears." strange, by your zero performance mods I wouldn't say you have a whole lot of experience with tech mods on mustangs. I may be in college, but I have the intelligence and logic to not believe american cars are the best automobiles on the planet. I see that you work in a ford subsidary, so that explains your gung ho ford thing, which is fine, but open you eyes.

I guess because I can respect select German cars i'm not going to get a job as you say. Oh, and an attitude like mine (one which likes foreign cars) is the reason why we are losing jobs overseas.. :rlaugh: :lol: Fiction can be fun pal. Just because I have only 45 posts doesn't mean anything . I've owned and driven plenty of fast cars in my days! As for not YET having any performance mods done. Unlike most of you youngins on here I have a family and responsibilities to provide for FIRST! Don't worry, I have a few Mods coming up in the VERY near future. I'm done with this because this is just a bunch of :bs: I'm calling a Truce!

P.S. You should really try a Viper if you get a chance. TRUST ME, you won't be disappointed I GUARENTEE IT!
