I was wondering if anyone else here has had trouble with their tie rods. I have had my car for a year and half and already changed both. My car also only has 42,000 miles on it. Hopefuly the new tie rods will hold up.

The dust boots on mine busted and they started to squeek badly at about 40,000 miles or so. Replaced the boots only and now my passenger side one is messed up again at 78,000. I'm just going to get a bump steer kit.

My passenger side one is about toast....lol one of these days i'll get around to fixing it (gotta stop spending all my damn money on mods lol). I've never had to replace mine before, but recently I've had to do both balljoints, and now i'm having to do tie rods...god damn Ford and their no grease fittings!

so if you get a bumpsteer kit, and then get the steeda balljoints do you think it would tighten up the play in my steering wheel as well. I think mine are toast as i get a lot of squeeking.

That's what I'm going to do pretty soon, gotta take care of some other stuff first. I'm hoping for some nice improvement in steering and overall ride and handling.

Get some aluminum steering rack bushings too, I love 'em, it was actually a noticeable change.

not that it matters or helps; just general info. sloppy steering can also be worn gears in the rack and the often overlooked rag joint (like if there is no reaction when you start to turn the wheel) - rag joint can be it.

good luck to all.
