Had to take the front end of my car apart (again) to replace the rack on it. I didn't notice before how the tie rods seated in the spindle, but does this look right to anybody?

They torqued down right and I was able to put the cotter pin in, but it seems like there is too much space in there. Course it has poly boots on it now that aren't deformed like the old rubber ones and maybe this is why I can see a gap. Can anybody confirm this?

Thanks

J

If the taper is seated and tne nut is tight, it should be ok.

May want to compare the old boots to the new ones. Mine alway ooze grease under the boot.

Upon further investigation I found that there was a revised tie rod released that is supposed to help correct bump steer issues. Mine have zerks so I think they are revised replacements. They are tapered and are tight, I just never noticed it before.
