I don't know how much this will help, but here goes. I was looking for a good combo of performance, street manners, and price. It seems that people either love or hate the KYB Gas-A-Just's due to the stiff ride. It seems that every time I decided one way or the other on buying them or not, I would see another post that changed my mind again. I saw where some have gone w/ the GAJ's up front and the GR2's in the rear. And, there's also the softer springs/stiffer shocks vs. stiffer springs/softer shocks philosophy.
I ended up spending a little extra and getting the Edelbrock IAS shocks for my front. Pricewise, they're a little more than KYB's and less expensive than Koni's. Unfortunately, I have no feedback for you as I'm collecting parts as time and money allow for a front end rebuild. But, feedback seemed mostly positive when I searched, and it's something a little different than most people use. I haven't decided what will go on the back yet. Maybe IAS all around if I like them.
I wish I had more practical feedback for you, but hopefully this will give you a little something to chew on until you get more responses.
Good luck.
