Ok, my 3rd gear grinds really bad when I shift quick into it, or if I shift it real hard. Could it be the synchros? I can get a new tranny under warranty. What do you think it could be besides the synchros? Thanks

Sounds like you drive a Mustang equipped with a T-3650 transmission

(ie, LOTS of trannies do this (mine did) Take that baby into the dealership, it should be fixed under warranty)

I know about all the problems with the T3650's, but I think this might actually be my fault. I drive the car hard ALL the time. In fact, every chance I get . Now I gotta take all the lines out, and redo the whole setup grrr.

Yup, time to de-mod the car a bit, take it to Ford and play dumb.

Make sure the shifter comes off, and see if you can swap your rear wheels for a set with normal tires.

Yeah, its easy being a girl.
Guy at Ford: "Excuse me miss, is that a nitrous line???"
Me: "nitrous? sir, what is that? My boyfriend told me to put these mafflers or mufflers on so it sounds loud, and that's it"
Guy at Ford: "What is that switch for?"
Me: "Oh, my friend put strobes on my car, but then he took them off"

Works everytime!

Mine only has 18k miles on it and I've power-shifted it its' whole life. This will certainly take its toll on things. The clutch took a dump last Friday night at the strip, but the tranny seems solid though. Are you power-shifting on the juice?

GOD NO!!!! You're not suppose to powershift when spraying! I powershift every other day or so....I dunno, we'll see when I go to Ford next week!

Synchros... No doubt. I had the exact same problem. Mine actually did it at the track. I took it into the dealership the next morning, all mods intact, with the numbers still painted on the windows and got the thing fixed under warrenty.

Guess the service writer liked me or something.

- "You dont race this do you? (Wink,Wink)"

"Hell no! Do I look that stupid?"

- "What are all these gauges and the 5 point harness for?"

"Gotta do something to make it look good for shows..."

- "Do you drive it hard?"

"Its never seen higher that 37 mph in the city and 67.5 on the highway...)

- "Well, thats what I figured, but I had to ask. (Wink, Wink)

I was obviously one of the lucky ones.
