well my block finally came in (thanks to brian at ADPerformance :nice: ) and now it's time to order the next big part(s). I've e-mailed Ed Curtis at FTI and asked him his opinion on which setup i should go with.

He replied:

"I prefer more cubes because I've built a few 347 engines and I've never had issues. Some of these 347 problems have been because of cheap kits and crappy machine wok, not the cubic inches. Also there's a lot of internet warriors that have never even seen the inside of an engine and preach the 347 problem. The curse of the internet is there are lots of idiots who can say whatever they want with no experience or proof."

so i will be going with a 347 with dished pistons and he recommended the standard small chamber AFR185's over the stroker series 185's. if emissions weren't a concern i would be buying the 205s :hail2:

does anyone have any comments/recomendations? this is not set in stone, yet...

-Scat forged 347
-AFR 185 cylinder heads (upgraded springs, etc.)
-FTI custom cam
-Paxton Novi2000 supercharger
-Edelbrock RPM II intake

I would personally go with one of the new 4340 internal balance Eagle cranks, 4340 H-beam Eagle rods, Probe pistons. Then you can go internal balance for the same cost it will be to go 28oz on the SCAT. I assume you going back to Brian for the internals, he can spec out all the specifics...

so eagle stroker kit? or would i have to piece it together? ya i would like to order through brian again. i think we may have pissed him off though, not intentially lol. just kept going back and forth through emails about the block. he's a good guy though, thanks for putting up with us brian!

I have known Brian personally for a few years and we speak usually every week. Just call Brian and follow his specs, I am sure he will go with what I listed above.... If not I can get the internals as well

A lot of internet morons need to read this quote over and over :nonono:

Follow what Rick is telling you. Use a 0 balanced crank with your dart block. Does the dart blocks need to be bored or do they come all ready? If they do, you can just keep it as is and use a 342 assembly instead of boring it out.

Any engine can turn out ****ty if you dont take the time, and use nice parts to assemble them. Some stroker kits are inferior to others. Ask people with experience which ones are the best. and remember the golden rule...you get what you pay for. Buy the best the first time off and you wont have to buy it twice.
