Times and Modifications

Built bottom end (stock compression), built AOD, F Cam, 100hp (soon to be 200) of NX nitrous, AFR 185's, TFS street heat intake, shorties,Hpipe, flowmasters, 4.10's.

Its a weird combo that initially sounds mismatched but works great. On the motor I might be able to pull a high 13, but on the unit with a minimum of nitrous it has gone 11.90's at over 120mph. Recently I've done some suspension work which I believe will improve my 60 ft's by as much as .3. On the street the car is super docile, slow and reliable even. The little shot of nitrous wakes it more than I ever imagined it could.

The combo at first makes no sense (somebody else's idea). The intake and exhaust are all wrong. The AFR 185's and F Cam are screaming high RPM and to make matters worse, the way the tranny is set up is like this: I stall it up to 2700rpm in drive, mash the gas and the unit and that's it. It shifts 1-2 and 2-3 at 5000-5200 RPM. The results w/o the unit are like you would figure- right when the car shifts its just starting to pull and feels so slow. The unit, I guess, makes the engine feel bigger and makes use of the massive flow available from the heads. Since only 3rd sees more than 5200, the low rpm intake (which also flows well) works fine. I also thought that the 4.10's were too much too. Turns out its perfect. It takes a pro or a visionary to build an odd combo like mine- not me. I never would have figured it out myself. I admit for what my 91 has it's not too impressive but damn is it reliable and consistent. It has never seen slicks and has been driven out of state on DR's, raced at a fun ford weekend (...and was a true street money winner), took a 4th, and driven home. Soon it should be in the mid 11's with no changes other than suspesion. The 11.90 pass was made with drag springs and totally stock suspension including quad shocks, leaving on the motor. I've put in drag struts/shocks, subs, good control arms, spherical bushings, and put the battery in the back. I can now launch anywhere on the nitrous and hook dead nuts on the DR's....at a light, at the mall...anywhere. The AOD really works great. I will be going to the track really soon to test it all the new stuff.

Haven't taken it to the track yet but I think it should turn 11's shifting at 6200-6500rpm's.I want to go into the tens on a 125.150 shot if I have to.
