timing chain gear installation question

In putting my new comp cams timing gear on my 5.0, it has provisions for 4+, 0, and 4-. Which one is 4 advance, the + or the _? I figure 4+ is 4 advanced but I want to make sure. I want it 4 advanced. thanks!

4+ is advanced. I would check the cam first as alot of cam grinders add 4 deg of advance in cam when they grind it. 4+ on the chain is gonna give you alot of bottom end and fall flat on its face higher up. This is a generality. That's the way it works 95% of the time. Also check PTV clearance if you have any kind of lift and duration.

7-up bill, is this on the stock cam? I heard the crower 15511 cam as a 4 degree advance ground in and it makes killer HP up top for a mild cam.
