How long does the typical stock timing chain last? I was having problems with my timing and found out that my chain is streached, car only has 90,000 on it whats the deal?
What do you mean 90k is a long time? I've never heard of them stretching out before 150k and mine has 173k. Now that I said that it will break on my way to class for finals this week...
IF you drive easy, shift at 4500... cool!! but IF to rap up the engine make 5000 rpm shifts... they will still work at 150K but they are streached and retarding the cam 2-4* !! Dont get confused with 150K on the engine and NOT think it isnt way past time for the bearings and timing chain to be changed!! Esp. if your thinking of running it hard??
