How do you set the timing on our cars , I noticed its not like the fox bodied cars with the spout connector beside the distributor. Is there a spout connector somewhere else on our cars that you half to unplug before setting timing? I will greatly appreciate your help.

On the opposite side that the gray plug is there are tabs that you need to press together and then the gray tab will come out.

ok, i just set my timing to 13 degrees with 93 octane. There is no pinging but when I hit 4300 rpms it seems to surge a tiny bit like theres no more power so do I need to advance the timing to maybe 14 degrees or retard the timing?

Did you notice any difference in running temp? I would back it down to 11-12 and see what happens.

Any mods on the car?

I backed it off to 12 degrees and it picked up a little you think I should go to 11 degrees? Thats wierd though because I thought the more timing you can pull with out pinging the more power you get.

Every motor is different but there is a point where too much timing affects performance, even if it is only to 14 degrees.

I just looked at my car and now i feel like an idiot, i think all the standing at work pulled all my blood from my brain.

So what is the connector behind the coil that goes too the little canister on the coil?

Sounds like you're talkin about the ignition noise suppressor.
