Timing Light

I wanted to do basically free mod of setting my timing for some extra HP, and I know once I do that I will need to run a higher octane fuel. There are a lot of different timing lights out there on the market. My question is if the ones that they sell at Autozone are any good, and if so, which one do I need to buy? Thanks for any help fellas.

Where did you find that one? How much did it cost?

I bought a Craftsman at Sears for about $50.00. Works great so far.

Hoofinit (sorry if I misspelled), craftsman is usually a good way to go. Is that craftsman one specific for our cars or it does not matter?

i have such a hard time trusting anything at autozone due to them being garbage here in Stafford. Id go to sears anyday

law-It is not specific to our cars. If I remember correctly they had two types, one that could not display total advance and one that could with a $20 difference. I figured since the stang's total advance was controlled by the computer I wouldn't use the total advance feature.

Get the craftsman. Timing lights love to burn out. With the lifetime warranty, you will get a new one every time it breaks!

Yeah...you really cannot beat the lifetime warranty.
