Interior and Upholstery Tips for getting a shift knob to line up?

The jam nut is so small and very recessed in between the handle and shift knob that I am unable to get a wrench around it. Any ideas on what I could do?

Find the cheapest open end wrench of the appropriate size you have in your box and grind it down to the thickness you need, to fit between the handle and ball. Grab the nut and loosen.

Its angled towards the driver so they can read it.... Thats how its supposed to be.....
